Future of Indian Air force


The Indian Airforce currently has just 32 squadrons of fighters the lowest in a decade. Currently Indian Airforce is going through a huge transformation. Indian Airforce is planning to purchase various Fighter aircraft, Transports, Trainers, Helicopters, UAV's,Surface-to-air missile systems, Cruise missiles, Airbrone early warning system.

Lets 1st know about Fighter jets-
Currently India has less Su-30MKI, India is planning to purchase a total of 312 on order(to be delivered by 2018-2019). Hal Tejas, a total of 294 Mk.IA and MK.II aircraft may be ordered to equip 14 squadrons to replace the MiG-21 and MiG-27 fighters. As of now 1 has been delivered with 119 more on order to be deleivered.
Dassault Rafales, on 10 April 2015, it was announced that India would buy 36 Dassault Rafales in
fly-away condition. The first Aircraft will be delivered by 2019, and the rest aircraft will be deleivered by 2023.
Transport aircrafts:-

HAL FGFA, the project has been marred by various negotiations obstacles delays, cost and requirements changes by both India and Russia. As of January 2016, India and Russia accomplished a noteworthy leap forward, consenting to build up the FGFA at a brought down cost of $4 billion in India. That would open the doors to building of 250 FGFA's for India(total numbers are still not clear).
The United Aircraft Cooperation (UAC) of Russia, and formerly with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) of India the two companies began the joint venture in 2009, when it was expected that each would be investing US$300 million in the project HAL II 214. In January 2016, ti was announced that the India's HAL would no longer be involved in the project and that Russia would proceed with the project alone. In mid 2008, the IAF marked an arrangement to secure 6 C-130J Super Hercules, altered for extraordinary mission parts for US$ 1.06 billion. The air crafts are based at Hindustan Air Force station in Ghaziabad and Lockheed Martin has delivered all six by October 2011.
On 16 September 2011, the Government of India sent a Letter of request to the USA to price out the purchase of an additional six C-130J's which will be based in the eastern command. The C-17 bargain, worth $4.1 billion, has been marked through Pentagon's Foreign Military Sales (FMS) course under which Boeing will convey the planes to India throughout the following four years.
The deal might include an option for 10 more aircraft. IAF issued a request for Information for 56 transport planes at $2.4 billion. On 12 May 2105 Government cleared the lone bid of Airbus-TATA consortium. The Indian Air Force will be operating 56 C-295W. The order was finalized by the Indian Ministry Of Defense. The first 16 C-295s will be obtained in take off condition; the rest of the 40 will be made in India under make in India campgian in organization with Tata Advanced.

Trainer Aircraft-
The IAF was wanting to procure 181 fundamental mentor air craft and IAF chose Switzerland's Pilatus Aircraft to supply 75 PC-7 MkII coach planes for $1 billion. On 28 February 2015, it was accounted for that Indian Defense service has chosen 68 HAL HTT-40 trainers and 38 Pilatus coaches to supplant its present mentor aircraft armada.

Helicopters-

The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is currently building up the Light Combat Helicopter(LCH) for the IAF in view of the effective HAL Dhruv stage. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is now developing the HAL Light Utility Helicopter for the fleet of Cheetah and Chetak helicopters and HAL Dhruv Weapons System Integrated(WSI) helicopter named HAL Rudra. Apart from that India has acquired Apache attack helicopters and CH47 Chinook Helicopters.
UAV's -
The DRDO of India is developing a Medium Altitude Long Endurance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) called Rustom. DRDO is additionally building up the AURA(Autonomous Unmanned Research Aircraft) which is an Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle(UAV) for the Indian Airforce.
Air-to-air missiles-
India and Israel have consented to clarify their rocket advancement cooperation with a more drawn out range adaptation of their expanded range Barak 8 barrier framework for the Indian Air Force.
